News review for Monocle 24 in Dec, 2011
Terrific experience with the new web-based radio programme The Globalist on Monocle. Monocle is one of the most forward thinking media brands anywhere in the world at the moment and have shown real innovation in an ‘old’ media by launching a new 24 hour internet radio platform targeting international audiences. A lot of the staff have come over from the BBC or other successful radio platforms and the whole service is off to a roaring start. I have written for Monocle in the past but this was my first experience at their new London HQ and it is very impressive.
It was a real pleasure speaking with Any Guttman and Sophie Grove on the programme about recent news in media and technology. My segment runs from about 34:00-44:00. We discussed the ongoing hardware dispute between Apple and Samsung, the future of music storage, and our very own cloud computing and Digital Inheritance research project out of CAST.
